Founded in July 2023, the SKMC chapter of Socially Responsible Surgery (SRS) was created to amplify the intersection of surgery and public health in the Philadelphia community. With strong institutional support from the Department of Surgery, this chapter serves as a local extension of the national SRSmission to address structural inequities in surgical care and support underserved populations through meaningful, collaborative, and community-based action.
