NYU Long Island

Our chapter was founded in 2021 by a group of medical students and surgical residents. At NYU- Long Island, we serve a diverse community in Nassau County with varied backgrounds and socioeconomic status. Our patients often have factors outside of their acute illness that impact their health, and we intend to better address these needs.

SRS provides an excellent opportunity to work with other institutions that have like-minded interests to learn more about how we can implement changes to serve our community. We look forward to working on our first initiative, a service learning project that provides additional resources and counseling to patients with social barriers regarding health and wellness.
